The marriage of a lightweight, durable, and cutting-edge forged carbon case with Swiss engineering exemplifies UNIMATIC’s dedication to pushing the boundaries of traditional watchmaking. The result is a timepiece that not only captivates with its sleek aesthetics but also delivers unmatched performance and comfort.

With its diverse 3D pattern of matte gray shades, which varies according to the individual cutting of the material, each piece is unique.

Despite its ultralight construction, UNIMATIC’s latest watch offering retains its formidable 300 meters water resistance. This feature reinforces the brand’s commitment to producing robust timepieces capable of withstanding the rigors of both land and sea exploration. Whether worn during adventurous diving expeditions or everyday urban life, the UNIMATIC watch ensures uncompromised performance and water-tight integrity.

Once molded, the billet goes trough many machining steps to produce the case. The whole process is a highly precise material removing procedure to the decimal of a millimeter, making sure water resistance is retained and all the parts lock properly.

In tandem with the ultralight forged carbon case, UNIMATIC has integrated slimmer automatic Swiss movements into their timepieces. These meticulously crafted movements are known for their accuracy and reliability, a hallmark of Swiss watchmaking excellence. By adopting slimmer movements, UNIMATIC has been able to create a more streamlined watch profile, adding to its allure and enhancing overall wearer comfort.

The first run of forged carbon is made exclusively with HODINKEE in a two ways limited collaboration of 250 pieces each. The drop features a Modello Quattro equipped with a Sellita SW200-1 b in a functional time only piece and a Modello Uno mounting an ETA 2893-2 that boasts a GMT complication.

FAI is a non-profit foundation established in 1975 with the aim of protecting and enhancing Italy’s historical, artistic and landscape heritage. Thanks to FAI efforts, Italy has seen many of its beautiful sites saved from neglect, restored, promoted and opened to the public. Modello Uno U1S-FAI is UNIMATIC’s pledge to support FAI and stand by its threefold mission to safeguard Italy’s heritage; to promote education, appreciation, awareness and enjoyment of Italy’s environment, landscape and artistic heritage; as well as to monitor the protection of Italy’s natural and cultural assets.

Italian culture is one of the core values for UNIMATIC and on July 2022 stands for Italian heritage by supporting FAI — Fondo per l’Ambiente Italiano (the National Trust for Italy) – through a dedicated watch: the Modello Uno U1S-FAI.

UNIMATIC X Maxfield

Unimatic worked together with Maxfield, the legendary Los Angeles concept boutique and archetype of black aesthetic expression, to create a unique edition of 100 pieces: the watch embodies a distinctive stealth all-black appearance, nodding to Maxfield’s avant-garde luxury realm, with the only highlight of the GMT hand in contrasting orange, glowing in the dark.

The signature Unimatic diving dial in matte black is paired with anthracite Superluminova markers and matching dark graphics, with a date display window at six.

The phantom hands-set matches the dial color scheme, as the black engraved twenty-four hours bezel insert. The double-domed anti-reflective sapphire crystal provides the best performance in every light condition and provides a cool blue reflex along its edge under a particular light angle.

The thin DLC black brushed finished solid 316 stainless steel case, the screwed-in 2mm thick caseback, the 8mm diameter crown, and the high-quality gaskets set to provide water resistance tested individually to 30 ATM=300m=1000ft.

Inside this made in Italy watch is the Swiss automatic calibre Sellita SW330 with GMT function, hacking seconds hand and manual automatic winding. It provides a power reserve of 42h and an accuracy of +/- 5 to +/-15 seconds per day.

The watch comes on a matte black snakeskin back-cut strap, in accordance with the Maxfield characteristic rock DNA, and a spare black Unimatic nato strap mounted on black DLC hardware.

U1S-GMT-M is covered by a 24-month worldwide warranty and is part of a unique edition of 100 pieces, celebrated by the UNIMATIC x MAXFIELD caseback engraving, which also bears the individual serial number of each piece.

Caseback detail

The launch was celebrated on 22nd of November with a cocktail party in the amazing Maxfield concept store in Melrose Ave, Los Angeles. The original Maxfield store was established by Tommy Perse in 1969 a few doors down from the iconic troubadour. In 1985 Maxfield moved into the current location and continued to build on the vision of a concept store which had already been widely credited for introducing the sophisticated grunge aesthetic to Los Angeles, elevating the city to the forefront of fashion through brands such as Prada, Comme Des Garcons and Yohji Yamamoto.

Perse has shaped a sophisticated sensibility that continues to transform the spaces beyond go-to shopping venues and into a high-level conversation on art, culture and design.

UNIMATIC x Massena Lab x King Nerd

A three-way collaboration, and a pièce unique, U4S-BRZ-SI was conceived and created to celebrate Swiss history and to benefit New York City’s Swiss Institute. The UNIMATIC x King Nerd x Massena LAB U4S-BRZ-SI is a self-winding wristwatch with a bronze case (UNIMATIC’s first ever use of bronze) and a bronze, galvanic-coated and hand-engraved dial by the artist King Nerd.

The U4S-BRZ-SI commemorates the story of William Tell, the Swiss folk hero thought to be the originator of the Swiss Confederation. According to legend, William Tell was a famed 14th-century outdoorsman and marksman. When he, quite literally, refused to bow to the Austrian dominion of his Swiss canton, both he and his young son were arrested and sentenced to death. Before the planned execution, in a cruel plot to punish and humiliate Tell even further, Tell was offered a chance at freedom. If, and only if, Tell could, in one attempt, shoot an arrow through an apple placed on top of his blindfolded son’s head, he would win freedom for them both. When Tell was successful, stunning and embarrassing the Austrian authorities, he was betrayed and arrested once more, leading to a popular uprising against the Austrians and uniting the disparate cantons of Switzerland into a single confederacy.

King Nerd’s final sketches

The dial depicts three elements of the Tell legend. At the center of the dial, the apple represents not only the literal fruit from the Tell story, but also The Big Apple — New York City — home to both Massena LAB and Swiss Institute. The arrows, piercing the apple, function as the dial’s hour markers while also symbolizing precision, forward-movement, and progress. The bounds of ribbon, the loose blindfold of Tell’s rescued son, are a symbol of freedom, liberation, and the opposite of blindness: vision, wisdom, and knowledge.

Generously donated by UNIMATIC and Massena LAB, the watch is being sold to benefit the missions of Swiss Institute.
